Marketing Automation: Website Content & Blogs

Posted on June 14, 2013 by autopi11 Leave a Comment

Perhaps you’re wondering where to start with your marketing automation? In this post we’re going to take a look at automating blog posts and newsletters. These are easy to get going on and you may find them to be a good starting point for your business.

In terms of published information that you can automate, here are a few examples;

  • Website content/ blog posts
  • Newsletters and email marketing
  • Lead generation
  • Social media
  • Phone texting

Almost everyone we work with uses WordPress as the platform for their website. It is easy to use and there are great plug-ins available for functionality. Another great thing about it is that you can schedule blog posts. Why should you be concerned with blog posts? Basically if you want to attract regular followers and search engine traffic to your site, you need to be regularly updating it with fresh, relevant content. If you use any kind of content that is not original, it can be flagged as duplicated which will push you down the search engine rankings.

If the thought of updating content regularly sends you into a panic thinking of your packed calendar, look at it like this; you don’t need to be blogging every day or every week, with the scheduling function if you set aside one day each month for content creation you can produce enough new content to schedule out and not need to worry about if for another month.

The most successful online marketers are using content creation as a big part of their strategy. Good, new content keeps your followers interested and helps to establish you as an authority in your field. Include content creation day as part of your businesses’ marketing calendar.

Of course, if you dislike doing the writing part yourself, this is something that you can outsource to a writer. You could have them doing all of the content and scheduling of your posts so that your website is ranking in search engines without you having to worry about it. We will discuss more in a later post how you can go about finding the right people to help you out.
