Welcome to episode #70! We’ve been at it for 2 1/2 years so today we take a look back at where we’ve come from and out most popular podcasts…
What did Andrew and Heather learn this week?
Heather has been delving into Panda 4.0, the new Google algorithm. The exciting thing is if you’ve been following our suggestions for the last couple of years (writing quality content for human beings, including images, using the right plug-ins etc), you may see an increase in your traffic! Google is looking to promote ‘real’ content. (One of our team members has had a 75% traffic increase! We interviewed him in Episode #48).
The power of honesty (online and offline) is a key we believe in!
Andrew has been looking at Slingshot, a new app. This allows you to share your screen between different devices – e.g. tablet to mobile etc. You can share documents on a call and there is a free trial available to test it out…
Looking back…
Our most popular podcasts: (website)
- #8 – Market Your Business with LinkedIn.
- #16 – Cool Marketing Productivity Apps and Tools.
- #4 – How to Make a Landing Page.
Downloads:
- #15 – Content Ideas and Content Marketing. (TIP: We direct clients to this for ideas – repurposing in action!).
- #11 – Twitter for Business Marketing Part 2.
- #13 – Membership Sites.
Our Evolution…
We started out averaging one podcast per month for the first 18 months, then we reassessed about a year ago and decided consistency was really going to be the key to improve our results. Since then they have been weekly and we are seeing consistency pay off! We are also getting other team members to edit it now, although we started out doing everything ourselves!
Personal Favourites:
AYB Fireside Chat Event Live Podcast (#37) (live questions from our guests in Melbourne).
How to Outsource Your Business (live from the Philippines – #7).
No Excuses Episode (#10) – done while driving from the airport to Andrew’s parents house in Melbourne.
Our Advice:
As business owners, doing a podcast is a great way to share your knowledge as well as highlight areas where you want to learn. We recommend if you have knowledge to share and a computer – grab a decent microphone and create your own podcast!
